Bharathapuzha river restoration

Prior to the 2018 flood, Bharathapuzhawas filled with sand dunes. Which is one of the biggest reasons why the river overflowed and destroyed a number of homes. The flood also deposited sand, wood and waste materials onto the river bed. We executed an emergency restoration project that’s spanned from Brahma kshetram to Kadakaseri pump house. In order to prevent another flood, the coming year, we immediately removed all waste materials, increased the depth of the river and levelled the sand to facilitate water flow. Our precision and speed helped prevent flood in the region in the following years.
