Desilting the Mangalam dam

Currently, we have been contacted to desilting the Mangalam dam in Palakkad Dist. It is for the first time in India that such a project is being carried out on a dam. We have had several people come over to study the process so that it can be implemented on other dams all around India. Research says that the success of this project will result in providing water supply for drinking and irrigation to 5 panchayats around the dam. This project is also beneficial to the Govt. as it brings in revenue contrary to projects that were carried out before. Hopefully, after the success of this project, we will be working on increasing the capacity of other dams as well. It will also aid in flood prevention to a significant degree.
